WELCOME

Welcome to La Moye Golf Club, Jersey, in the Channel Islands.

This 18 hole links type course of approx 6664 yards from the medal tees presents a fair challenge for golfers of all handicaps featuring large sand hills, pot bunkers, gorse bushes and punishing rough. A stiff wind will invariably add to the task.

Located in St Brelade in the south west of the Island, the golfer is presented with stunning views inland of the western parishes and seaward of St Ouen’s Bay and the sister Channel Islands of Guernsey, Sark, Herm and Jethou.

The Course which was established in 1902 has previously been a venue on the PGA European Tour, with such notable winners Tony Jacklin, Ian Woosnam, Bernard Gallagher, Howard Clark, Sandy Lyle and Sam Torrance and since 1996 now features in the European PGA Seniors Tour.

La Moye is essentially a members club with an active social and overseas membership. Visitors are welcome and our professional Mike Deeley is able to provide clubs and other equipment, access to a practice ground and lessons for those wishing to improve their game.

The Club is able to offer opportunity for corporate golf days and charity events by arrangement with our Secretary/Manager. Since these are limited, competition is stiff and bookings are generally taken at least a year in advance.

The Clubhouse is modern and comfortably furnished and provides the opportunity to enjoy the views, including dining outside on the terrace on warm summer evenings. It is licensed and staffed to provide snacks or table d’hote during the day and enjoys a restaurant, which is renowned on the Island.

At the time of the Club’s centenary in 2002 the history of the Club became the subject of a book written and published by Peter E Firth, "The Boomer Legacy, La Moye Golf Club The first Hundred Years 1902 – 2002", copies of which are obtainable from the Club’s Secretary/Manager. Extracts from the book have been taken to provide a brief history and introduction to the Club in this web site.

This web site has been designed to provide information for both members and visitors alike and we hope you all enjoy the site and the information provided.
