La Moye Golf Club

Dress Code

“The issue of dress code is a sensitive one at all golf clubs and La Moye is no different. While comprehensive, the standards set out below do not cover all eventualities but are taken extremely seriously. To avoid unnecessary embarrassment (including to staff that have responsibility for monitoring and enforcing the Club’s policy), I request all Members take the time to consider their and their guests attire against the letter and spirit of our code. The same applies to visitors to our Club. If you have a doubt in respect of an item of clothing or footwear adhering to our dress code, then please refrain from wearing it.”

Captain Shaun Johnson, November 2015

On the course and practice areas in the proximity of the Clubhouse

Members and visitors are requested to wear recognised golf attire:

  • Shirts must have a collar and sleeves, and must not be worn outside the trousers or shorts (irrespective of design).

  • Trousers and shorts must be tailored and in good repair.

  • Golf shoes with socks are mandatory. When wearing shorts, white socks must be worn and be visible.

  • Golf hats and visors must be worn with peaks forward.

Ladies are requested to adopt acceptable and appropriately modest standard of dress and observe the spirit of the dress code where, because of the differences in male and female attire, it is inappropriate for them to observe the letter of it.

Garments in denim or imitation denim, tracksuits, rugby and football shirts, tee-shirts, sweatshirts, cargo pants and shorts / trousers with external pockets, and any clothing that displays prominent logos are not permitted at any time.

Adult Members should exercise appropriate discretion with regard to clothing worn by children in the Clubhouse.

Garments in denim or imitation denim, tracksuits, rugby and football shirts, tee-shirts, sweatshirts, cargo pants and shorts / trousers with external pockets, and any clothing that displays prominent logos are not permitted at any time.

The following are also strictly prohibited in the Clubhouse:

  • Golf shoes of any type, except in the locker rooms and the spike bar / 19th (when accessed via its own external door).

  • Beach style flip-flops and all plastic, sports and training shoes.

  • Hats, caps or visors.
