Island Games - Gotland 2017 Day 1

The 2017 Island Games golf event got underway at 07.30hrs local time (08.30hrs BST). Unlike the Jersey games two years ago, both the Men and the Ladies tournament are playing the same course on the same day and today the Men teed off first.

With three out of four scores to count, the Jersey Men's team of Gavin O'Neill, Jason Stokes, Matthew Parkman and Alex Guelpa have a total of 221. The Isle of Man are leading with 215. The best gross score of the day was 69 from Isle of Man player, Daryl Callister. Jason Stokes was the best of the Jersey team with 71. The other Jersey individual scores were Gavin O'Neill 73, Matthew Parkman 77 & Alex Guelpa 78.

The Ladies followed the Men and their scores were Flora Keites 79 (2nd) Hanna 92 (17th) Helen Lagadu 93 (19th) and our own Juanita Adlington 95 (22nd)

The Ladies Team score of 528 puts us in 5th place 42 shots behind Gotland
